THE hotel where the son of New York Yankees legend Brett Gardner died has been raided.

It was the first search conducted at the Costa Rican hotel since the week after Miller Gardner's death in March.

Miller, 14, died at the Arenas Del Mar Beachfront and Rainforest Resort from what was determined as carbon monoxide inhalation.

Prosecutor Kenneth Alvarez told ESPN that additional evidence was collected in a three-hour raid.

"Let us remember that what was done at that time was the measurement of toxic substances at the site," Alvarez said.

"Based on those tests, a second proceeding was scheduled, which was carried out today to collect evidence."

Three pickup trucks brought agents from Costa Rica's Judicial Investigation Department to conduct the raid.
