TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes is demanding proof of repairs from a Tucson landlord who Mayes says is providing poor living conditions to his tenants.

Mayes’ office issued a cease-and-desist letter against four properties in Tucson and the City of South Tucson, including Sixth Avenue Suites Apartments, Spanish Trail Suites, Oasis Apartments, and Eucalyptus Apartments, requiring immediate action to address what she said are uninhabitable living conditions.

“The sewage system backs up here everyday. It floods everything out, it ruins people’s clothes, ruins people’s property,” said Wilbur Wood, a resident at Spanish Trail Suites. “[Bowers] has forced people to take out their window AC’s, threatening them with evictions and fines.”
