A shot was fired as police as officers were investigating a shots fired call at a Tuscaloosa apartment complex Thursday night.

A 30-year-old man who was fleeing police, authorities said, sustained only a minor injury likely from broken glass. He was not struck by a bullet.

Tyler Guyton is charged with attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, obstructing government operations, and reckless endangerment.

The incident began at 9 p.m. Thursday when officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired at Landmark Apartments on Old Montgomery Highway.

Witnesses reported that shots had been fired from a red car, said Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Jack Kennedy.

After officers arrived on scene a few minutes later, they made contact with a red vehicle that was occupied by Guyton.
