On Sept. 11, a new public opinion survey conducted by Abacus Data for Kingston Accommodation Partners (KAP) revealed that Kingston residents are very positive about the role tourism plays in enhancing and sustaining their quality of life.

According to the survey of 300 adult residents:

76 per cent report having a positive quality of life in Kingston, with only 2 per cent rating it as poor.

A majority (91 per cent) agree tourism is important to Kingston’s economy, and 78 per cent believe tourism is important to the city’s culture.

Nearly two-thirds (63 per cent) agree that tourism enhances local infrastructure and amenities, making Kingston a better place for everyone.

84 per cent would support increased tourism investment if it resulted in more visitors and funding
