CLEVELAND, Ohio — Later this month, my friend Branson Wright -- a filmmaker and freelance sportswriter -- is showcasing a film he produced called “ King of The Block .”

His documentary, which will screen Sept. 20, at 6:05 p.m., in the Atlas Cinemas on Shaker Square, is about a rivalry between football powers in Ohio: Princeton and Moeller. The Cincinnati high schools have had a long, storied history. They’re the Queen City’s version of our St. Ignatius-St. Edward rivalry.

“Rivalries are what get you up in the morning,” former Ohio State Coach Jim Tressel says in the film.

Rivalries always contain secondary stories. And Wright highlighted one in his documentary.
