MEDINA, Ohio – City officials are hopeful that site remediation at the former Sunoco site at 426 W. Liberty St. will be completed soon.
Economic Development Director Kimberly Marshall announced back in June that work to test and clean up the site had begun. During a Sept. 8 council meeting she reported that an additional soil sample was recently sent to Columbus and she is hopeful that in the next couple of weeks, Medina will receive a notice that no further action needs to be taken on the site.
“We are taking a look at the site to see what we can do for site restoration,” she said, adding that she is working with City Engineer Patrick Patton to obtain a quote on potential cost of the restoration.
