SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - It appears that the latest round of summer heat is here to stay. Temperatures this weekend will remain above normal and likely stay that way through all of next week. It’s also possible that we stay dry for at least the next ten days, and possibly the next two weeks.

Weekend temperatures: The upper-level ridge of high pressure that has brought the hot and dry conditions will weaken a little during the next few days. This will allow the heat to ease, but only a little. Temperatures on Saturday morning will begin in the lower 70s. Daytime highs Saturday afternoon will be a degree or two cooler as most locations settle into the middle 90s. Expect the same on Sunday
