MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Hickory Hill immigration lawyer and residents are reacting after the president announced the deployment of the National Guard to Memphis.

A date has not been announced as to when that will happen, and Hickory Hill residents are giving mixed reactions.

"Deploying the National Guard is a show that is really not going to fix anything long-term," said President and CEO Mauriciou Calvo of Latino Memphis in Hickory Hill.

Calvo is concerned about what the National Guard's presence on the streets here will mean to this multicultural part of Memphis.

"Long term it creates a barrier between the community and law enforcement, that trust that is so important to truly combat crime. It gets blurry when you have troops on the streets. Again this country is not a country that's used
