PERRY COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - One man is behind bars in Perry County on a felony charge after Drug Enforcement Administration raids Thursday.

Ahmedou Mohamedlaamar, 22, made his first appearance in Perry County Justice Court Friday morning.

Mohamedlaamar is charged with trafficking a controlled substance after a multi-county investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics to underage individuals.

WDAM 7 learned that Mohamedlaamar was employed and living at the N HALE Smoke Shop in Beaumont when it was raided.

Investigators said that Mohamedlaamar was in the United States on a visa.

Mohamedlaamar told Perry County Justice Court Judge Tim Odom that he didn’t speak English fluently and that his native language was Arabic.
