Gov. Glenn Youngkin pushed back on plans for Chesterfield County School Board member Dorothy "Dot" Heffron to resign at the end of the year, saying she should instead resign immediately.
Heffron received a slew of criticism after an Instagram post that read “Call me old fashioned, but I remember when we used to be okay with shooting Nazis.” The post was made in reference to conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed on Wednesday during an event at Utah Valley University.
Youngkin rebuked Heffron's comments in the days after the post and reiterated his stance Monday.
"Let’s be perfectly clear: a school board member suggested it was ok to shoot people for their beliefs," Youngkin said on X. "She must resign immediately. Not tomorrow, not next month, immedi
