Western North Carolina high school football is back for Week 4, which brings the first games of conference play.

The Mountain 8 Conference gets into conference play, starting with East Henderson at Franklin on Sept. 11. There are still nonconference games, including Murphy traveling to face Reynolds for the first time since 1962.
