BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
It's been a little over one week since Aldorthia Burrell was killed by a stray bullet while in her home in the Jones Valley neighborhood.
The 82-year-old great-grandmother's death sparked anger among community members, city leaders, and law enforcement.
Most time, Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama will offer a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. However, they've increased the amount because of how heartbreaking this case is.
According to police, Burrell was on her front porch when a stray bullet struck her. They believe the shot was fired during an altercation that happened a block from her home.
"Somebody knows something, somebody can come forward with some bit of information that we can pass on and hopefully bring this to a close, bring closure
