Rosie Duffield has confirmed she’d “love” to return to the ranks of Labour MPs - but “never in a million years” under Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
But that may come sooner rather than later, as the Independent Canterbury and Whitstable MP claims the common consensus within the party’s ranks is that the PM has less than a year in office remaining.
“With the change of leadership, that is inevitable,” she tells KentOnline, “I will look at possibly going back.
“Keir Starmer won't be able to survive the May local elections [in 2026] if they're as bad as they're predicted. So I would think he'll try and cling on for a little bit; June, July possibly, then he's gone. Everyone I know thinks he's gone.
“Unless those polls change dramatically, he can't survive; no leader can survive.
