BEREA, Ohio — The Browns have been through this before with a kicker — within the last few weeks, really.

When they made the decision to move on from Dustin Hopkins and give the kicking job to Andre Szmyt, they gave up on a player they showed relatively fierce loyalty to as Hopkins struggled through his 2024 season after it seemed like nothing could go wrong a season earlier.

Now Szmyt, 26, is facing the same questions as Hopkins did and, at least for now, is getting the same level of support from his team after missing an extra point and a 36-yard field goal in a 17-16 loss to the Bengals.
