CLEVELAND, Ohio — Chapel Hill indie rock stalwarts Superchunk will make a rare appearance in Cleveland at the Grog Shop on Wednesday, Sept. 17, with Tee Vee Repairmann opening. Tickets for the show are on sale now at Ticketweb.com.
Superchunk is touring behind its 13th studio album, “Songs in the Key of Yikes,” released in late August. The album title is both a cheeky reference to Stevie Wonder’s classic “Songs In the Key of Life,” and a clue to the album’s contents, which include songs titled “Everybody Dies,” “No Hope” and “Train On Fire.”
Singer-songwriter-guitarist and frontman Mac McCaughan grew up listening to Wonder, as his father was a big fan of the music icon, so he heard Wonder’s masterpiece quite a bit.
