A Lanarkshire man who launched a vicious bottle attack on a fellow train passenger has been ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid community work.
Patrick Vandeleur, 36, admitted assaulting the man, whose identity is unknown, on October 19 of last year. He struck his victim over the head with a glass bottle.
The incident happened on a train heading from Motherwell to Lanark at around 7pm, reports Lanarkshire Live .
Rebecca Clark, prosecuting, told Hamilton Sheriff Court: “The accused became involved in an altercation with another man whose identity remains unknown.
“The disturbance caused upset to other persons on the train and some children were crying.
