A popular Lanarkshire restaurant has been forced to close after a fire ripped through part of the building last night.

The Cut Bothwell, a much-loved steakhouse, announced its immediate closure this morning (September 13) following a blaze within the main hall of the building on Friday evening (September 12).

Fortunately, the restaurant, bar and kitchen remain unharmed and "fully intact", according to staff.

The restaurant on Old Mill Road will be closed for the foreseeable with repairs due be underway come Monday, September 15. The team believe the refurbishment should take around six weeks as they focus on washing, cleaning, and painting the fire damaged main hall.
