AKRON, Ohio – Some 15,318 students enrolled at the University of Akron for the fall semester, a 3.4% increase over 2024, the university announced this week.

The university credits the gains to increased enrollment in its undergraduate, graduate, law and College Credit Plus programs, according to a news release. The current student body represents the largest university enrollment since 2021.

The number of first-year, full-time students increased 9.7% compared to the fall 2024 cohort, according to the university. The university’s Wayne Campus also saw an enrollment increase of 11.19% over last year.
