Concerns over bicycle access caused councillors to defer a decision on a Leicester flats plan. The scheme, off Narborough Road , had been praised as “high-quality” and “well-designed” by council planning officers .
However, members of Leicester City Council 's planning committee disagreed, asking applicant Aman Singh, of Kings Street Investments Leicester LTD, to look again at the company's proposal. At the heart of committee members' concerns was whether future residents would be able to conveniently store their bicycles.
Under the plan, a two-storey clothing factory in Raymond Road, off the busy West End shopping street, would be torn down. A three-storey building , containing eight of the 14 proposed flats, would be erected in its place,
