BLOUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Blount County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an 18-year-old in connection to child sex crimes.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, Sept. 12, a joint operation was conducted by their office, with assistance from the Blountsville Police Department and the Oneonta Police Department.

The Sheriff’s Office says this operation was conducted at 7011 County Highway 47 in Blountsville.

According to authorities, a search warrant for electronics was served and the Blount County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Benjamin Ryan Zea.

The Blount County Sheriff’s Office charged Zea with:

Two counts of electronic solicitation of a child

Two counts of traveling to meet a child for a sex act

Two counts of second-degree rape

Two counts of second-degree so
