AUSTIN — UTEP extended the competitive portion of the game against No. 7 Texas far longer than expected, but ultimately left with a loss and plenty of good feelings after the Longhorns struggled to a 27-10 victory .

The Miners were within a score until the final second of the first half, and that 40-yard drive against the clock ended up being the defining moment for Texas.
