(WTAJ) — Bishop McCort Carroll quarterback Bentley Bainey delivered on both sides of the ball to secure this week’s Sportbeat Player of the Week honor.
Bainey led the Crushers with two touchdown passes on offense and added two interceptions and a forced fumble on defense in a 31-12 win over Richland. His all-around effort helped Bishop McCort control the game from start to finish.
For Play of the Week, St. Marys wide receiver Frankie Smith made a highlight-reel touchdown catch in his team’s 32-14 victory over Ridgway. Smith’s bobbling grab in the end zone became even more impressive on replay, cementing his play as the week’s top highlight.
Bishop McCort moved on to 4-0 on the season, while St. Marys improved their record to 2-2 on the season.
