David Eisenhower home
112 SE 2nd, Abilene, Kansas
This Queen Anne cottage was built in 1889. The home became the first residence of the David Eisenhower family (the father of former President Dwight ‘Ike’ D.
Eisenhower) when they returned to Abilene from Denison, Texas in 1890,
a gift from Ike’s grandfather, Jacob F. Eisenhower.
The Little Town of Mansions project is an initiative of the Heritage Homes Association. HHA is dedicated
to celebrating and preserving historic homes in the area. Each month, the HHA highlights a featured home.
The Community Foundation of Dickinson County also supports this project.
