Week 2, Sunday Night Football. Tonight we have a matchup featuring two rising quarterback prospects. J.J. McCarthy and the Minnesota Vikings host Michael Penix and the Atlanta Falcons in an NFC contest.

J.J. McCarthy got his first NFL start last week after missing his entire rookie season in the NFL last year due to injury. It did not go well for McCarthy and the Vikings early on in their game against the Chicago Bears. McCarthy and the Vikings offense looked out of synch and downright incompetent at times during the first three quarters of the game. However, everything started to click in the final quarter as the Vikings came back from an 11 point fourth quarter deficit with three touchdowns to squeak out a 27 – 24 victory.
