JOE Burrow is set to be out for three months after suffering a Grade 3 turf toe injury.

The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback requires surgery having gone down during the second quarter of yesterday's 31-27 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars .

Following the game, Burrow quickly underwent an MRI scan.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport , the 28-year-old is now set to be on the sidelines for three months.

A mid-December return would see Burrow come back for the Bengals' last three regular season games.

But whether Zac Taylor 's team can cope without their star QB remains to be seen.

Jake Browning is likely to step up while Burrow is on the sidelines.

The 29-year-old entered the action on Sunday following Burrow's injury.
