ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
A child who was critically injured in a fire in Elizabeth Township early Monday morning has died, according to sources close to the family.
The family’s pastor, Rudolph Woods, had been keeping in touch with them throughout the day Monday. Advertisement
“The grandfather called me at about 2:30 this morning to tell me that the house was engulfed in flames,” Woods said. “He informed me that the baby had passed [later this morning]. I’m very sad.”
The fire broke out a little after 12:30 a.m. at a home in the 1900 block of Parkvue Street.
Elizabeth Township Fire Department Chief Adam Janosko said hoarding conditions affected their ability to get to the child, who was found in a bedroom and taken to a hospital in critical condition.
