A couple on a house viewing were forced to call the police after making a horrifying discovery. They are understood to have been on a “self-guided tour” of the property at the time.

But after entering through the backdoor they immediately began to suspect something was wrong. It was then they discovered what is believed to be human remains in an “enhanced state of decomposition”.

Police told local news outlets that they were called to a house on Delphos Avenue in Dayton, Ohio, USA, at around 10am on September 10. They say they were initially called to reports of “suspicious circumstances”.

Speaking to PEOPLE magazine , Dayton Police Lieutenant Eric Sheldon said: “Human remains in an enhanced state of decomposition were located inside the home.”
