WESTFIELD – The man arrested in the armed robbery of the Cumberland Farms convenience store on Main Street Wednesday evening was found after kicking in the shed door of an off-duty police officer while on the run, according to court documents.

At about 8:40 p.m., David Kilmer, 21, walked into the convenience store, brandished a knife, and demanded the cashier give him the money in the register, according to a police report of the incident.

When officers arrived at store after being alerted by a silent panic alarm, the cashier had locked herself in.
