Do you know about House Speaker Matt Hall's "challenge coins," a sort of novelty token with his face on one side, and the face of former Speaker Joe Tate, D-Detroit, on the other? Hall had the coins made in 2024, when the state House of Representatives split 54-54 after two Democratic state reps successfully ran for mayorships in their hometowns, effectively ending the Dems' majority in that chamber until an April special election.
