MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — One person is dead and another is injured after gunfire erupted at a party in Mesa overnight.

Mesa officers responded to the reported shooting around 2 a.m. on Monday at The Maddox apartments on Gilbert Road near the U.S. 60.

A Mesa PD spokesperson said the shooting broke out after a fight at a party. Two people were shot; one of them died, and the other has life-threatening injuries.

The person who died has not yet been identified.

No suspect information was provided by police. Detectives are going to the scene to investigate what led to the shooting.
