CLINTON, CT (WFSB) - A person was rescued from the water after a sailboat capsized off the coast of Clinton last week.

The incident happened on Sept. 12, according to the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighters said they, along with the Clinton Police Department, responded to a report of a capsized sailboat with a person who appeared to be in distress in the water.

When crews arrived, they reported that they found an approximately 10-foot boat that had indeed tipped over. A person was clinging to its side trying to upright it.

They were able to successfully get the person out of the water and right the boat.

They then helped the person and the sailboat get back to shore.

No other details were released.
