MISSOULA — Montana's 1995 FCS national championship football team gave the crowd at Washington-Grizzly Stadium something to cheer about when they were honored Saturday afternoon near the north end zone.
The current Grizzlies had fallen into their first two-score deficit of the season and were trailing North Dakota 13-7 when the team from 30 years ago was recognized in between the first and second quarters on their reunion weekend.
By the time those ex-Griz players were leaving the stadium, the applause they had received was outdone by the volume of cheers this year's team pulled out of the crowd of 26,492 fans as the latter rallied for a 24-23 comeback win.
