RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Washoe County School District saw an increase in the number of 4 and 5 star schools in the most recent Nevada School Performance Framework.
Issued by the Nevada Department of Education, the assessment provides information on student academic performance based on factors like performance on state assessments, credit attainment, graduation rates, advanced diploma placement, and test performance.
They say the number of 5-star elementary schools doubled, while the number of 1-star elementary schools was reduced by half during the 2024-2025 school year.
“Behind these data points are success stories of staff members, students, and families working together to improve,” said WCSD Superintendent Joe Ernst. “Our students’ performance in English Language Arts, math, and la
