LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- The Nevada Department of Education released its 2024-2025 statewide report card Monday, showing significant improvement in the performance of schools.
The schools are rated each year on a star system from one (the lowest) to five (the highest).
“We always have more work to do, but the widespread gains in achievement seen this year are rare and a clear indicator of progress,” said Steve Canavero, interim superintendent of Public Instruction.
Every year, each school is assessed on English Language Arts and mathematics Smarter Balanced assessments, science assessments, chronic absenteeism, graduation, and school designations. The rating is a reflection of individual learning in the classroom, according to the Nevada Department of Education.
