SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- A construction company has requested the city to vacate 19th Street, between Dakota Avenue and Minnesota Avenue as part of Tre Ministries ongoing project on the lot.

The proposed street closure is the latest step in the project after Tre cut back its initial plan. Demolition on the lot started in December 2024. Now, the lot sits empty and Tre Ministries rolled back on the project, scaling its size down and eliminating the original plan for a three-story parking garage.

The proposal, sponsored by the Mayor's office, will have its first reading at Tuesday's Sept. 16 City Council meeting.
