It’s that time of the year again. The clocks haven’t even fallen back an hour for the end of Daylight Saving Time (that will happen at 2 a.m. on Nov. 2 this year), but the sun is already setting a bit earlier each day.

It won’t be long before every region of New Jersey will be dark before 7 p.m.

Depending on the location and altitude of your town, pre-7 p.m. sunsets will occur as early as Sept. 18 to as late as Sept. 22 — the first official day of the fall season , known as the autumn equinox .
