The Golden State Warriors have had a quiet offseason so far but could start making moves once they reach a resolution with Jonathan Kuminga.
Kuminga is a restricted free agent and is still in the middle of contract delays with the Warriors. Golden State is fairly limited with how active they can get on the market with Kuminga's status for next season still uncertain.
Once that is decided, however, the Warriors can start to make some other moves to build its roster around Stephen Curry as well as Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green.
According to Anthony Slater and Shams Charania from Monday morning, Curry is "not agitating behind the scenes" and has shown patience.
Perhaps one of the reasons is because once this is resolved, it could potentially lead to him playing alongside his brother Seth Curry for their first time since Seth's sophomore year of high school.
Slater and Charania reported that Golden State has had "strong discussions" with Seth Curry during free agency. Earlier this summer, Slater said there is "mutual interest" between the parties.
Last month, league insider Jake Fischer also wrote about Golden State's interest in signing Seth.
In 2022, Seth mentioned that he enjoys having his own path in the NBA.
He added that while he never knows what the future holds and isn't against a reunion with his brother, it wasn't his preferred choice.
But here is what Seth, who joined Golden State for training camp in 2013 before he was cut, said when asked about the possibility last month (via NBC Sports Bay Area):
“I always have to do what’s best for myself,” Seth Curry says. “Obviously, Steph would love me to come over there and play with him. And the fans showed me a lot of love at all times. (Our) Family would love it. I’ve obviously I’ve always embraced the Warriors and their system and love the way they play. And you never know what can happen.”
His father Dell Curry, meanwhile, has said that Golden State is a "good market" for his younger son.
Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers, who is Seth's father-in-law, said that Golden State is a "perfect place" for the sharpshooter.
If the Warriors agree to terms with Kuminga, he will have their tenth roster spot.
After that, Golden State is widely expected to sign Al Horford to its eleventh roster spot with the mid-level exception.
That leaves three or four more roster spots available for them to offer veteran minimum deals, and one of those could go to Curry.
ESPN reported that other players reportedly under consideration for Golden State include De'Anthony Melton and Gary Payton II while Fischer has noted that Cody Martin is another potential target.
