BLUFFTON, S.C. (WSAV) — The Town of Bluffton reported that its email list was subject to a phishing attack on Friday, Sept. 12.
Residents and businesses may have received an email with the subject line "Town of Bluffton" that included an attachment, asking users to provide an access code.
The Town of Bluffton said that it was sent from a spoofed address and was a phishing attack. If you clicked on the link, you should reset your password and contact your IT department to scan and "scrub" the computer.

The Town of Bluffton said that no information from the town's network was compromised, and the staff was able to respond quickly and prevent damage.
