HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A woman was arrested on Sunday after a K9 officer found fentanyl inside her car, according to police.
On Sept. 14, officers with the Huntsville Police Department stopped 29-year-old Shaylin Shontae Harris for a traffic violation near the intersection of Jordan Lane and McDow Avenue.
The officer at the scene called for a K9 handler. HPD said that K9-Tyson arrived and performed a "free air sniff," where police said he alerted to drugs inside the vehicle.
Upon a search, HPD said officers found about 1.2 grams of fentanyl.
Harris was arrested for drug trafficking and taken to the Madison County Jail. She is being held on a $100,000 bond.
