MADISON (WKOW) — The UW-Madison Police Department is investigating a series of e-bike and e-scooter thefts on campus.
From Aug. 28 through Sept. 13, there have been five reports of stolen bicycles and scooters, police reported .
The thefts have occurred at various locations, including Union South, Lowell Center, Nicholas Recreation Center, and Ogg Residence Hall.
"Thefts are never the fault of the victim," the UWPD emphasized.
Police advise students and faculty to take precautions, such as purchasing an anti-theft device or heavy-duty lock for their bikes or scooters. It's also recommended to park in visible, well-lit areas and record serial numbers.
