EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - An Evansville woman is accused of leaving a crying toddler alone on someone’s porch.

25-year-old Latizja Cole is charged with neglect of a dependent.

Police say the father of Cole’s children recently passed away, and family members say she’s had a hard time taking care of them alone.

They say a cousin of the children’s father had been watching one of them, a two-year-old girl, but Cole recently took her back.

Police say on August 26, Cole dropped the little girl off on the cousin’s porch, but didn’t tell anyone.

The cousin’s husband found the child when he got home from work.

Police say she was dirty, and her diaper was full.

CPS was called to investigate.
