STATEWIDE - Gas prices are creeping downward.

They fell a little over one cent a gallon last week.

According to GasBuddy's survey of more than 1,200 stations around the state, the average price is now $3.13 cents a gallon.

That's 6.5 cents a gallon higher than a month ago but 7.3 cents a gallon lower than a year ago.

Patrick De Haan , GasBuddy's Head of Petroleum Analysis , says " The good news is that the transition to cheaper winter gasoline begins tomorrow across most of the nation and with improvements underway in the West Coast market, I expect the average gas prices will continue to decline in the weeks ahead in most states- assuming hurricane season remains quiet."
