On Monday, Sept. 15, the Library of Congress confirmed in a press release shared with PEOPLE that Arthur Sze had been named the country’s 25th Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry for 2025-2026.

The news comes after Sze, 74, won the Library’s 2024 Rebekah Johnson Bobbitt National Prize for Poetry.
