KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Knox County Commissioner Kim Frazier has entered the race to become the next mayor of Knox County in 2026.

Frazier filed paperwork on Monday to join the field of Republican candidates vying to replace Mayor Glenn Jacobs, who is term-limited.

Knox County Commissioner Larsen Jay launched his campaign in January 2024. Knox County Board of Education Chair Betsy Henderson announced her candidacy in March.

Jay and Frazier are the two at-large members of the 11-person commission who represent the entire county rather than a specific district.

Frazier was elected to the commission in 2022 and currently serves as its Vice Chair. She also chairs the commission's Rules Committee and the Knox County Beer Board.
