In 1950, Harry Truman was president, Sunset Boulevard was in theaters and current Tiverton residents Dolores and Anibal Teixeira tied the knot. On Sunday, 75 years after they said ‘I do,’ they renewed their vows in front of family members in their home at Brookdale Sakonnet Bay.

“We’ve had a good life,” Dolores said.

The couple's story starts at a dance in 1945, when each was 15 years old. Anibal recalls sneaking in under the guise of being a member of the band.

“After a little while, somebody came over and said, ‘Hey, would you like to dance with a nice girl? '” he recalled.

That first dance did not immediately lead to a relationship; however, at another dance two years later, Anibal saw Dolores, who was celebrating her 18th birthday, again. This time, he asked fo
