DETROIT — Beginning on Thursday in Green Bay, many NFL teams hosting their Week 2 matchups chose to honor conservative media personality Charlie Kirk with a moment of silence following his death on Sept. 10.

The picture above is from a Charlie Kirk moment of silence ahead of the Dallas Cowboys' game against the New York Giants on Sunday.

Kirk was a conservative media personality and activist who was shot and killed at an open-air event on a college campus in Utah last week.

The first moment of silence on Thursday was a decision directly from the NFL, but the league did not make the moment of silence mandatory for the rest of the week's games. The NFL gave the option to home teams as to whether they would include a moment of silence in their Week 2 games.
