With Parliament having resumed on Monday, the best way to judge the performance of Prime Minister Mark Carney is by the high standards he has set for himself.

During the election, Carney said he was the best candidate to negotiate with U.S. President Donald Trump on tariffs, make Canada the fastest-growing economy in the G7 and address Canada’s affordability crisis.

Six months after winning the Liberal leadership race and becoming PM, those high expectations have not been met.
