A Greenfield man died in a boat crash on the Connecticut River in Montague Saturday afternoon, the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office announced Monday.

Norman Plausky, 54, died near the French King Bridge on a part of the river in Montague’s Turners Falls neighborhood, the district attorney’s office said in a press release. Police were called to the boat crash around 2:30 p.m. and found Plausky dead in his boat — which was still running — near the rocks on the shoreline.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Plausky may have had a medical event on the boat prior to the crash, the district attorney’s office said. The incident is still under investigation.
