DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers have released former pitching prospect Wilmer Flores.

The 24-year-old right-hander was reinstated from the 60-day injured list at Triple-A Toledo before being granted his release.

Flores was rated a top-100 prospect by some outlets after a dominant 2022 season that ended at Double-A Erie. But he endured a rough 2024 campaign marked by injuries and control problems.

Dropped from the 40-man roster last winter , Flores returned to Detroit on a minor-league contract with a spring training invite. Shoulder issues sidelined him for much of this year, limiting his only work in 2025 to a brief rehab stint at Class A Lakeland last month.
