NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Keeping pedestrians and bikers safe on the road will be the main topic for discussion in a Metro meeting on Monday, Sept. 15.

This was the area where Dorothy ‘Dot’ Dobbins was hit and killed back in June.

Two months later, in August, another pedestrian was on their bike when they were hit and seriously injured.

Police stated that the bicyclist was expected to recover, but the driver fled the scene.

Earlier this month, Metro leaders approved new crosswalk protections for the Madgeburg Greenway crossing at 3rd Avenue North.

Two new stop signs with red flashing lights were added at the beginning of September. Officials replaced the yellow crosswalk warning signs

NDOT leaders recently asked the Traffic and Parking Commission to go even further by requesting that
